The Power of Partnership: From Respiro Shelter to Friends for Life

At RPM, we are proud to partner on projects that deliver more than just structures—they deliver stability, dignity, and community. A shining example of this is the Respiro Shelter project, a critical facility for Keys to Change AZ that is actively helping individuals exit homelessness.

The stories coming out of Respiro are powerful testaments to the impact of dedicated supportive housing. Take Juli and Peggy, two residents who found their way to the shelter after losing their homes due to circumstances like health struggles, alcohol use, and rising rent.

As Peggy recounted the fear of sleeping on the streets, and Juli recalled hitting "rock bottom hard," the Respiro Shelter provided them with a safe, stable platform. More than just a roof, the shelter environment fostered a profound connection: they became the "best of friends." Now roommates in their own apartment two years later, they share chores, jokes, and gratitude for the support they received from the Keys to Change staff and partners.

This transformation—from losing everything to finding housing, stability, and enduring friendship—is made possible by innovative, rapidly deployable housing solutions. The Respiro Shelter provides the foundation for these new beginnings, where dignity and hope can flourish.

We are honored to contribute our engineering and design expertise to projects like Respiro, ensuring these crucial, life-changing facilities are built efficiently and effectively.
