NAVFAC Ammunition Storage Facility

Location: West Loch, Honolulu, HI

Agency: Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC)

General Contractor: Nan, Inc.

Building Dimensions: 48' x 175' PEMB

High-Capacity, Secure Open Bay Storage

Military infrastructure demands exacting standards, strict compliance, and unwavering durability. Located at the West Loch Annex in Hawaii, this new ammunition storage facility is managed by NAVFAC to support critical operations at the Honolulu base.

The structure is designed as a massive 48' x 175' open bay storage facility. This expansive footprint maximizes usable floor space and operational flexibility, allowing personnel to safely and efficiently maneuver, store, and access specialized equipment and ordnance without the interference of interior support columns.

Streamlined PEMB Procurement and Engineering

Delivering a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) for the Department of Defense requires navigating some of the most rigorous submittal and quality control standards in the industry.

Similar to our successful deployment on the Alhambra project, RPM Team took a comprehensive, hands-on role in managing the procurement and engineering of the metal building. Rather than treating the structure as a standard material order, our team managed the entire lifecycle of the PEMB—from initial manufacturer coordination and structural engineering integration to expertly navigating NAVFAC's complex approval processes.

By actively managing the supply chain and engineering constraints upfront, RPM was able to bypass typical procurement delays that often plague federal projects. We worked seamlessly alongside the General Contractor, Nan, Inc., to ensure that the building arrived on-site accurately engineered, fully coordinated with military specifications, and ready for rapid assembly.
